Methods and Subjects

At the International Middle School, various methods and didactics of a British imprint are utilized to stimulate the pupil’s power of reasoning and to develop and express personal opinions through active participation in the lessons.

LEARNING BY DOING

Active laboratories allow pupils to reason and solve problems through practical experiences.

COOPERATIVE LEARNING

Pupils actively work in groups using this method to reach a common objective through integration, individual responsibility, face to face interaction and assessment.

FLIPPED CLASSROOM

In order to stimulate reflection, debate and detail studies, at the International Middle School we adopt flipped classrooms i.e. the pupils sit facing each other while the teacher has no fixed desk.

OUR CLASSROOMS

Each subject of the curriculum has its own specially equipped classroom, therefore the pupils change classroom according to their timetable.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE BOOST

Our bilingual teachers offer, over and above the Ministerial programme, an adequate preparation for the exams of language certificates KET – PET – FIRST (Level A2/B2) recognized on an international level.

CONTENT AND LANGUAGE INTEGRATED LEARNING

Content and Language Integrated Learning  is also practiced in (L2 English), Science  (L2 English) and Musical culture  (L2 English).

THE FRENCH LANGUAGE AND CULTURE

As required by many employers, our students must be fluent in at least two foreign languages, therefore our school employs bilingual teachers.

A FIRST APPROACH TO LATIN

The study of Latin is present in most High Schools and is a fundamental part of our identity. It allows pupils to reason as well as being a good discipline and is important in understanding European culture - as many European languages have Latin roots.
